Rider And Run/Walk Registration Opens In Late July

Join us rain or shine for the annual Greenway Cycle Challenge, a scenic and family-friendly bike ride! This fun event takes place on the picturesque Genesee Valley Greenway State Park trail. Support future updates to the trail and enjoy this historic corridor. The 10-mile ride finishes at the Avon Driving Park where you will find local outdoor vendors, equestrian demonstrations, and food vendors.

For 2026, we've added a 5k cross country run or walk within Avon Driving Park where the Cycle Challenge finishes.

Whether you're a cyclist, runner, walker, or community member, there will be something exciting for everyone!

At the conclusion of the one-way event, you will be responsible for riding back to Scottsville or parking a second car in Avon. A member of your group can ride and another do the walk; just drop of the rider in Scottsville for the Cycle Challenge start, drive to Avon for the run, and then you both can drive home afterwards!

Secure your spot today and be part of this community experience. All proceeds go to support the Friends of the Genesee Valley Greenway, a dedicated 501(c)(3) organization.

Please note the following recommendations:

Children riding their own bikes should be at least 8 years old.
We recommended parking your vehicle at Johnson Park in Scottsville.
Meet up and start riding at Canawaugus Park in Scottsville.
At the conclusion of the one-way event, you will be responsible for riding back to Scottsville (20 miles total) or parking a second car at the finish in Avon.
Any type of bicycle or pedal-assist bike is welcome on this flat trail.
This is a self-supported event. Bring spare tires and snacks as needed.

Event Time

Cycling starts at 10am in Scottsville in small groups based on rider ability. Runnig/Walking starts at 10:30am in Avon. All events ends at 2:00 pm in Avon.

Location

For the Cycling Challenge: Start in Canawaugus Park, Scottsville and Finish at Avon Driving Park.
For the 5k Cross Country Run/Walk: Start and finish in Avon Driving Park.

Only $35.00 per Rider or $60.00 per Family of four riders!
Only $25.00 per Runner/Walker or $50.00 per Family of four riders!
